Festivals in Port Douglas are celebrated with the showcase of their Island lifestyle. The main festivals that are celebrated here are the Port Douglas Carnivale and Footprints Music Festival. Port Douglas Carnivale comes in the end of May and it Begins with Macrossan Street Parade and the Footprints Music Festival is an eco-friendly arts festival. Another ebullient festival is 'Porttoberfest' which is a festival of Beer. Port Douglas gives much importance to eco-tourism. Port Douglas Beaches & Parks
Snapper Island National Park is a place of ivory beaches, eucalyptus and vine forests. Port Douglas Four Mile Beach is ready to enchant you with its crisp air, and an extensive area for any holiday activities. Mossman Gorge is another place of interest. The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary is the best of its kind and renowned as an all time award winner.
Port Douglas - The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef contributes most of the tourists to this place. The beautiful coral reefs is very valuable and can be used to make ornaments, decorative works etc. The Tijou Reef on the Great Barrier Reef has many special zones, of which some constitute glorious coral gardens, different dive sites etc. At the northern tip we can see shark city, where sometimes shark feeding is conducted. Agincourt Reef is famous for its caves, swim channels, beautiful reef fishes and 16 dive sites. Blue wonder is one among them. Split Bommie Dive Site is where we can have a little suspense thrill.
